A ‘test and learn’ approach

Over the six years of our programme, Age Better in Sheffield has worked with partner organisations to deliver projects aimed at reducing loneliness and social isolation in people aged fifty and over. We adopted a ‘test and learn’ approach meaning there was flexibility to try new, innovative ways of delivering a service or activity, and opportunities to reflect on what did and didn’t work. We now have a bank of project reports, learning resources, blogs and videos which not only chart the activities and outcomes of Age Better in Sheffield but demonstrate ways of working to make Sheffield a better place to grow older in.

Housing

Housing and support allow people in Sheffield in later life to age comfortably and safely within their community.

Staying connected with events and people in Sheffield and getting timely, practical information to manage life and meet personal needs is essential for active ageing.

Sheffield’s community support and health services must be designed and delivered to meet the needs of people across the life course.

Everyone in Sheffield should be able to actively contribute to society, no matter what their age is.

Everyone in Sheffield should feel connected to and able to participate in their city and communities.
